A reminder!!!! LA PAZ COUNTY, Not Los Cabos County!
Property Taxes in La Paz County can be paid as soon as October of the previous year. For your 2018 property taxes, you can pay NOW. And there are some GREAT advantages to do so!
Start with 30% off your property tax bill! Hmm, that is GREAT!
Also, in October, Nov and December you can have any LATE fees and interest reduced as much as ½! So if you are late in paying back year’s taxes…GRAB this great discount.
Remember too that if you are over 60 years old and have an INAPAM (Senior Citizen Card) you can take a 50% discount on your property taxes. INAPAM cards are available in the main offices of the delegation in La Paz. There is also an office in San Jose del Cabo!
In years past, the online payment system of La Paz County has left a lot to be desired. But it does exist. Here is the web address. http://servicios.lapaz.gob.mx/predial.php
The Head of Catastro stated to FIRST check out their website at www.lapaz.gob.mx go to “Tramites”, then “Impuestos Prediales” and input your data. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE between Urban, Suburban and Rustic Land. Be sure to click on the correct type of property type. AND be sure and REGISTER first as indicated on those pages.

But at MINIMUM, you must have your tax ID number (Clave Catastral).
Of course, if you have a friend or a property manager, they can also go to the main office of the Property Taxes, located at H. XV AYUNTAMIENTO LA PAZ, Boulevard Luis Donaldo Colosio, entre Calle Carabineros y Avenida de los Deportistas, La Paz, Baja California Sur, 01 612 123 7900. This is where you need to go if you need to challenge your taxes, negotiate the penalties. You cannot do this in satellite offices such as in Todos Santos.
FYI: Los Cabos County property taxes cannot be paid until about January 7th of the current tax year. But, do put this date on your calendars, as discounts in January apply here too.
